  It has a lot of moments that are good in isolation, but this movie is not good. It’s a shame, after the greatness of the previous two movies, that I spent most of this movie questioning the decisions of the characters and the actions of the plot.

  The most amazing part of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is not the special effects, but that these special effects are wrapped around the heartbreakingly interesting story of one of the best Science Fiction movies of all time.

• The Batman (2022): When a Story Doesn’t Match Your Character

  

  If the character you’re presenting and the character they need to be for the story you’re showing don’t line up, there’s dissonance. One or the other will get compromised.
